I saw the picture above and wanted to post it for the lovely flowers, so perfect for Spring. I want to keep my blog somewhat lighthearted, but this year started off stressful. I had a couple of family members sick over the holidays, so no celebrations at my home. Hence the title of this blog post. Spring is supposed to bring a sense of renewal, and I definitely look forward to the warmer months.
Some things I loved during March:
Some things I loved during March:
- Mr. Selfridge- Television show on PBS which I'm just now getting into. I will have to catch up since the third season just began.
- Queen by Alex Haley, David Stevens- I started this book in February but finished it in March (it's a BIG book)! I picked this a a choice for Black History Month and Women's History Month. I don't know if it fits in the latter category. I will count it as such because it is historical fiction.
- Trader Joe's Organic Fairtrade Rooibos & Honeybush Tea- First of all, Trader Joe's is my favorite store. We had one in my hometown several miles away. When they opened one right by the mall, I was really happy because it's so easy to get to now. This tea has almost a sweetness to it naturally, so it doesn't really need any sugar. The fact that it's organic and fairtrade makes it even better. The box is also really pretty! (Photo courtesy of Trader Joe's website)
- I just realized that today is the anniversary of Selena Quintanilla's death. Selena was an American Tejano singer. I would not be considered the target audience for her music, but her story really stuck with me. She was killed 20 years ago by the president of her fan club. Her life story was even made into a movie starring Jennifer Lopez. I have watched the movie quite a few times, and found it very touching.
